vw t6 heated seat control panel

Hi I been told by VW that there is a fault with this panel or it has been coded wrong? the direction
of the air flow cannot be changed, the deal cannot recoded this or replace it due to it being a retro fit part
for the heated seats, so if i change the unit does it have to be coded???

just an up date I have now been told that the heater panel is coded at the factory and does
not need to be done again, I found a panel on ebay for £40 pounds from VW golf and fitted into
my T6 Transporter and it worked perfect, I was also told that if the panel looks the same it will work
