I am just confirming an order for a T32 Kombi and one option I can’t figure is the twin halogen headlights......

Apparently it’s a recently added option. Has anyone had it? Can’t justify LED’s.

Thanks

Now I’m going from memory as I got mine 3 years ago but back then it was the lights and vision plus pack (the plus was the important bit).

Maybe it already comes with the twin H7 lights as standard now and that's why you can't order it? More likely to see a flying elephant I know but maybe as it's a runout model now?

I have never had the pleasure of driving with h4 headlights in a t6 but when I did a search when looking for a van ,all I could find were bad reviews on the h4,s , I have h7,s and don't have a problem at night and there is also great bulb upgrades available out there for h7,s that don't burst the bank account

How much extra are the twins? Leds?

My Caravelle has H7s as standard. They are better than H4s, but not a patch on LEDs. My previous Amarok and current Tiguan have bi-xenons, so the Velle's H7s really feel like a downgrade.

I have the light and vision plus option which replaces single H4’s with twin H7’s. Not as good as LED but much cheaper and perfectly adequate for the speeds I drive my van at

I’ve just reread the original post again and just to clarify to the OP, the twin halogens you mention are not a new option, they are the H7s we’ve been talking about. They’ve always been an option and are standard on top end versions like Cali etc

Twin halogen are £144
LED headlights and taillights £1510 (which I can’t justify TBH)
Fair price difference, I mean the H7s have got to be done! For another 1350 quid though, LEDs or not? Personally after living with halogens I'd go for it, the lights are fairly horrific compared to modern car xenons or LEDs. The last thing you want to do is go H7 and then it 12 months spend another 650 quid to upgrade so some non genuine LEDs?

The LEDs are pretty amazing; my missus got them on her Tiguan, as a result I had to have them on my Caravelle because I felt blind driving at night in the T5 after driving the Tiguan a couple of times!

I think you will regret not going for the LEDs
I don't have them and wished I'd known what I know now, they are an absolute snip at £1500.
I was driving a Touareg before the T6 and just assumed VW would use all the same lights...how very wrong I was.
I'd suggest you drive both at night and you wont go for the H7s
All in my opinion of course but then again I do drive more at night than in daylight

If you drive a lot at night the LEDs are definitely something you should consider, budget permitting of course. However if you don't drive loads in the dark then the H7s are apparently much better than the H4s. As previously stated you can add aftermarket LED units too if you feel like you need them at a later date.

You can add after market LEDs but my point is factory fitted as an option are a fraction of the after market cost. As i said a snip at £1500.00

Travelin Lite sell the same lights as THQ, but with a full LED bulb option for £620. They are said to be far and above the performance of any halogen lights, but not quote as good as OEM LEDs. But then at less than half the price, they have to worth consideration.

My bad @Dannyb6467 , I thought that THQ LED lights were full LED but after looking they aren't, it's just the DRL. I should read more before I open my gob! @Nibbo, FYA.

Edit: Was just looking at Travelin Lite too so it seems that LED lights can be had for less than OEM price. It would be interesting to see how different they are as they are much cheaper.

From what I have read, it appears that the issues with the Travelin-Lite DRL’s with LED dipped-beam bulbs are
bulb error warning lights appearing and
MOT issues surrounding the bulbs not having the ability to auto-level.
Otherwise you’re right - almost half the cost, easier to fit and a light output far better than halogen.
