VW have had my broken van since February

Hi
I bought my 2019 T6 150 T32 in December last year. In February it started playing up. Slow to start then wouldn’t start at all. I called the AA and they got it going for me and I took it straight to VW. They kept it for 3 weeks. Replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor and as soon as I got it back and it sat for a day wouldn’t start. AA towed it back to the garage who kept it for a few more weeks and told me it was fixed with a new fuel filter. Same again after it had sat for a day it wouldn’t start. AA came back and got it going and I drove it back k to the dealer who have had it since. They have given me no info apart from it may be debris in the fuel tank.
I’m absolutely sick of the van. I just don’t want it anymore as I have lost all faith in it. No idea how to proceed just needed to have a rant.
Thsnks

Bob

Is it under warranty or are you paying for them to fix it ?
If the latter, then I would get it to a decent independent VW specialist.

You're within your rights to simply reject the van and get your money back.

Any idea where I would find details of my rights? Everything I have read seems more tailored towards giving them reasonable time to fix it.

Easy for me to say I know but have faith doesn’t sound nothing to serious hopefully! I stay away from Main stealers but understand you have warranty with them! Trust me there worth it in the end mine brings me so much joy for many different reasons

That’s great. Thank you.
Funny that one of the only times they have contacted me was when they sent me a video with a list of problems with the van that I was assured before buying had been fully checked and serviced and nothing would need touching for roughly two years. They told me I needed new brake hoses, a haldex oil change and a few other bits and bobs. When I turned up to collect it the first time they presented me a bill which I refused to pay and eventually they covered the cost.

This might be an easier read...

Whilst the info on knowing your rights is useful, it shouldn’t stop you going in tomorrow and saying you want your money back. Do it politely but very visibly in their office, and make sure you speak to the manager.
Get it into their heads that you are serious.

I’m at the point now where if it isn’t sorted this time then I’ll ask for a refund. I think I have been patient enough.

Just be aware that you're getting very close to the 6 month ownership mark, whereupon your right to reject diminishes. I would certainly raise the spectre of rejection with the dealer before you get to that point and, personally, I would do that in an email so that you can evidence your intent to reject prior to having owned the van for 6 months.

Evening. I sent my email this morning to the service person dealing with me and also copied in the after sales manager. Firm but politely stating my intention to request a refund if the problem isn’t solved promptly. I had a reply from the manager almost instantly saying a master technician was completing the job today and they are confident it will solve the problem. He said someone will contact me to discuss but no one has.
I suppose it’s better than nothing but I won’t hold my breath.

Hi
I finally got the van back after nearly a month. New fuel pump and sender unit replaced. Warranty refused apparently but fixed under goodwill.
But 2 weeks later and it won’t start again.
I have emailed the dealer first thing this morning saying I will get it towed back to then and want a refund. Not heard back yet

Drop the reg plate on here if you do return it & the dealer once all is sorted so one of 'us' doesn't end up with a floater...!

If you're returning it under the Consumer Rights Act, then it is the seller's responsibility to arrange and pay for the return of the vehicle.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll have a look into it.
I still haven’t heard anything from the dealer. I expected a phone call or email fairly soon after sending mine.
This is all very off putting. Not sure I want another Transporter. All the horror stories and huge bills I have read about on here plus my own experience is enough to make me rethink.
