VW angled side bars

Has anyone got the VW angled side bars (non sportline) fitted?

I’d like to know what they’re actually made of; are they polished stainless steel as the accessories brochure suggests or chrome plated as some people refer to them?

I do like the look of them over the traditional shape side bars but I'm not keen on paying that sort of money on a set of bars that could end up rusting sooner rather than later.

I have always used genuine bars, and never had an issue with the shiny bits, the underside brackets looked a bit tatty after 4 years but just painted them even though you couldn't see it normally,
These new ones have all the brackets hidden under the plastic.

Yeah they do look very nice!

They should survive the horrible road conditions here in the South Lakes if they are stainless!
