hi
Thinking of 20s on my new van have any members got vw sportline springs 30mm with 20 inch alloys on a T32 please post some pictures so I can see the car has gap
Thanks

Looks great I have 18 on my t5 it seems with 20s it cuts the arch gap down how does it drive
Hi Bobby69, the drive is great in my opinion. I have Fox ms0007 wheels 1000kg load rated, offset 38 with 265/40 20r tyres to get the right load rating for a T32 and I don’t get any rubbing.

Sorry if its the wrong place to ask, but when you put different sized wheels and tyres on does it not affect the speedo and the gearing of the vehicle?

Thanks, I thought as people were saying about "cuts down the arch gap" that they were larger diameter which would make a larger circumference.
If your'e trading up from 17" - 20" wheel and tyre wall, then there is the consideration of speedo calibration being out. Offhand it is roughly 6mph in the negative at 70mph. So your speedo will read 70mph and you are effectively travelling at 64mph.

I think it's the other way around... The 'WillTheyFit' site states that for the change you mention (17" to 20" roughly speaking) the speedo will under read by approx 3mph at 60mph (i.e. it will read 57mph).

As an example, 235/40r20 will give you a similar rolling circumference to a standard 215/60r17. So the difference in the speedometer reading would be very slight. More wheel radius, less tyre side wall can equal less wheel radius, more side wall.

The bigger the circumference from standard, the more your speedometer will under read. The taller your gearing will be and you'll have to press the brake pedal a little harder to get the same rate of deceleration. Your odometer will read slightly less too, for a given distance.

You can play about with different tyre sizes on willtheyfit, but finding a tyre to fit is one thing. Getting a suitable load and speed ratings can be another.
