Votronic Dual Solar controller

Anyone know if the battery types for a Dual Solar controller have to be the same types?

Is the standard starter battery in a T6 AGM? If so will I need my leisure battery to be the same type and or size?

I have a Votronic MPP 250 Duo solar controller and, no, the batteries don’t have to be the same for that one.

However, the charging of the starter battery is only a basic 1-2A trickle charge, it’s not a full charger like for the leisure battery. In my experience though, it’s fantastic for just keeping the starter battery topped up, you never need to worry about leaving it for a while.

This is what I'm after, trickle the main batt when its sat around doing nothing for weeks (like now) but charging the leisure for my coolbox when I need it.
Had a near miss on a campsite where the main battery had got low accidentally, so a trickle to that might be perfect.
