Evening, my brother in law who is recently retired is looking toward volunteer work or charity work to keep himself occupied. He is a very skilled electrical engineer with worldwide experience and wants/ needs to keep busy for a few hours a day.
Does anyone know of any good organisations that would entertain somebody like him?
He’s based in mid Essex and is willing to travel.
Thanks.

Engineer is a broad term these days and often linked to nothing to do with engineering IMO
If you post his specialist subject matter it might make it easier.
Greenpeace, British Antarctic Survey (need to be fit and crazy), there’s no shortage of organisations who love ‘free’.
RNLI.

A recently retired colleague now volunteers at Colchester Zoo and enjoys it.

Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome always seems to be on the lookout for volunteers and might have something to suit his engineering background.
