Victron XS 12/12-50A V Smart 12/12/30A

At long last I have convinced my self to get a Victron DC DC charger

Was just about to get TR Smart 12/12-30A
I know it is quite big and gets quite hot.

I see Victron have just brought out
XS12/12-50A

I dont really need 50Amps as Solar charger provides most of the power and generally my drive to the hill takes about 3 - 4 hrs
Always leave the house with a full charge

There is about £100 difference between the two chargers.

Any reason not to get the 12/12-30amp model and save a few pounds

If that's the new one, I understand it is much more efficient / cooler in operation?

Can it be throttled back via an app?

its 100% worth it for these reasons.

runs cool as a cucumber,
its half the size,
Has BT APP,
can set the current limit,
Has VE-Direct
Has VE-smart via BT.

its still new so new feature bumps are coming every week.

Factory fitted parking heater, which has a role in heating the engine as well, in cold temperatures, is wired to the second battery for cars until 2018 (as I have read a few posts in here). I guess I need to see how the harnesses go under the seat, and if it really is true or it actually takes...

I was at campmart Telford Sunday
Was impressed by its size and weight

Run cool does side cool ...

Been able to limit the amps sounds a good idea

Maybe have to look under the van seat and see if there is any spare change
