Because i am an idiot and didnt think of it beforehand, I have installed all my kitchen units and realised if i want to install a battery monitor on the splashback, ideally i am going to have to remove it all in order to run and hide the RJ45 cable. I really don't want to do this, as all my wires and cables are neatly installed and it would be a mess.

Just wondering if anyone has installed a Battery Monitor in any other place, looking for inspiration! Was thinking perhaps on the back of the seat base, would be easy to do - but might look out of place somewhat. A part of me thinks how often am i really going to look at that screen, i am not off going off grid camping - but i realise a Smart Shunt would help the other charges via Smart Networking, so maybe i will just go for that and not the screen (ill check the info via the app if i need to).

Seat base is fairly common TBF.

Take a look here:

Yes the screen,

Lord is people put staff there...

Switches.
Voltmeter.
Usb.
240v socket.

Etc

You will be kicking yourself if you put it somewhere else when you wanted to put it on the splashback. Pain in the ass yes, but you want it right to look at in the first place....... so bite the bullet and remove splashback fit it there and in 6 months time you will be so pleased you did.

You only need to see the battery / charging data when there’s a problem. IMO keep the inside of the van as as a small home not a machinery control room.

Would one of these be an easier fit?

Want to stick with Victron, because of the smart networking. My battery is Renogy though.

Thats what i am thinking though - i don't need to see the screen all the time, its extra things (and yeah its not a control room) and i can check it on my phone if i really needed to know

Or... maybe on the back of the handbrake cover if there is room... Not seen any examples of that!

The screen is not that clear to see, even when it’s in a good position, I have one, although I mainly use the app, it will be impossible to use if it’s down at floor level, can you not run the cable inside kitchen units and mount on the units somewhere, sorry don’t know what your units look like
