Very harsh ride

Hi all.

I have a t32 4 motion LWB. Its a leighton vans 2016 so what ever susoention comes on it, and 20"wheels. I dont put MUCH weight in it, just my fishing gear, and it has been insulated etc.

My got the suspention is harsh, so hard. I do alot of motorway driving, so what wondering what i could do to keep it at the same height but make it less harsh. Lutrally every bump in the road is jaring.

Could it possibky be rhe very new, but cheap tyres on it?

What is the load rating on your current tyres? You need a tyre load rating of 103 or 104 for a T32, but if it is higher than that it will add to the harshness.
Maybe swap to smaller wheets (17 or 18 inch) with bigger tyres.

Try Dropping to a 17,18, wheel with deeper tyre side wall to see if that helps.

It might have have different suspension fitted?.. that may be more sporty than OEM?

Can you get some pics of the suspension from under the van?

Even the wheels themselves can be harsh. I had worx wheels which were crashy as hell but then went to navi's and I couldn't believe the difference.

@bigcarpjohn the cheap tyres won't help. I had a similar experience when I bought mine and in the end I went back to an 18" Sportline wheel (from 20's with terrible Chinese tyres) with the standard size 255/45 18 fitment and correctly load rated Michelin Cross Climate 2's. I then went to @CRS Performance and had their Koni Definition Kit fitted (50mm lower than standard) and a proper four wheel alignment to replace the 50mm lowering H&R springs and worn out standard dampers. It drove like a car, the transformation was fantastic.

Mine's a T30 so I finished it off with a T32 rear anti-roll bar and polybushes on the anti-roll bars front and rear just to tighten it up and reduce understeer. It's now even better and I am very happy with it which is something considering I hated it so much when I bought it I wanted to get rid of it the ride was so bad!

Some pneumatic tyres would help, can hardly see those low profile ones in the photo, must be almost rigid.

The picture is of a customers van , i cant remember what tyres size he had chosen .
Interesting fact however ;-

a 245 45 20 tyre which is Commonly used, and a standard Sportline 18 inch tyre have exactly the same side wall dimensions , This is why i crinch when i see van owners ditching 20 inch wheels for 18 inch in the hope it will be more comfortable .

What side boots does the Sportline arrive with from the showroom?

Surely a harsh ride is to be expected on a T32 - in fact all and any T6's are commercial vehicles designed for carrying loads.

Ours rides better with load in it, much more compliant and less harsh. Filled it full of mother's furniture and it was the best it's even ridden.

I was a National Express coach the other week, two passengers with bugger all luggage and it was awful, harsh, noisy - crashing and banging down the M4. The return journey was a fuller coach, with luggage and it was a much quieter and more comfortable ride.

Mine was rock hard on the T32 VW springs
There are many different T32 rear spring options , i think 4 motion, and Wheel base are some of the variations that require different springs . all of them however are designed to carry 1 ton . If the van is empty it will ride hard obviously . The chassis is the same on all models so changing the rear springs from a standard T32 to say T28 will help a lot providing you dont want to carry a ton at some point .

Changing the dampers on the rear makes the ride a whole lot better on a T32 as well .
