Van went into limp mode.

Hi all, hoping someone might have an idea about what happen to me today.

2021 T6.1 204 bi-tdi 4 Motion DSG

Started up this morning, short drive to an appointment. Almost straight away the glow plug light was flashing and van in limp mode. As it was not far, carried on to destination. When I started it again a few minutes later, everything was back to normal.

Did a VCDS scan and came up with a few errors (I've left out the bits that are ok)

Any insight as to what happened would be amazing - Thank you.

Thanks. Nothing obvious in the maps - a kind of expected as the fault obviously wasn't on at the moment of logging.
Collected the following turbo related data items (as a reference).

Charge air pressure: specified value: 2156 hPa
Perhaps it's good to check air hoses for cracks or loose joints as at the moment of the fault there was quite a high boost demand.

What I found strange was that as soon as the van was restarted (after been off for a few minutes), everything seemed to be ok.

Thinking back over the circumstances: I first started the van from cold, then pulled out of the parking space and up a reasonably steep hill. It was fairly soon into the hill that the van lost power and was in limp mode. Is it possible that this might explain the high boost demand?

That's normal behaviour to clear the limp mode - till the failure is detected again.

Thinking back over the circumstances: I first started the van from cold, then pulled out of the parking space and up a reasonably steep hill. It was fairly soon into the hill that the van lost power and was in limp mode. Is it possible that this might explain the high boost demand?
Obviously yes. But still the engine normally can handle such a situation, i.e can produce the requested boost.
