Upgrading T6.1 T 32 shocks, springs etc

front springs are different but if you swap the whole shock over it fits the same.

Thanks for your help as it’ll be new to me, as I left my T5 on standard set up.

My next question will be about the lowering set up for the T6.1, that I’ll get sorted when I pick her up in September.

If you intend to lower the Van , I would recommend not fitting the T 6.1 parts because even though springs are coming on to the market now the likely availability of sport shocks to match is far away . . There fore if you lower the Van with T 6.1 springs and you aren't happy with the ride the currently available shocks wont fit those springs . You will need to wait for a Sport shock solution to be produced and generally this takes a long time to be developed .

Ok.
What’s best set up for the T6.1 at the minute if i change wheel size to 20” and lower the van ?

thanks.

The 20 inch wheels need an adjustable stiffness shock to control them , so the KONI sport shocks is kind off the only one that can do this .
Coupled to a H&R lowering spring the results are fabulous . If changing shocks and springs you don't need anything from the T 6.1 except the top mounts which are £50.00 a pair from the agents .

Hi
Will there be warranty issues ?

Thanks.

Hi , the fitting of 20 inch wheels could have a warranty implication if they want to make things really difficult , but , To answer your question fitting lowering springs will definitely void the shock absorber warranty but this really isn't important as the standard shocks are poor any way .

Fitting the Sport kit "Shocks and springs" will come with its own warranty , which is probably longer than the VW warranty any way and they can not void the warranty on anything else in the car if a shock and spring kit is fitted. The truth is the KONI shock will be a lot better for the Chassis as it absorbs the bumps in a more controlled way. Sensible drops of 40 mm wont flag issues with Drive shafts either .

Hi

20” wheels are now recognised by VW so no warranty issues there at all- In fact we’ve been fitting big wheels to transporters for years and never had a single issue with warranty.

Lots of suspension kits available for the T6.1 from ST, Eibach, Bilstein KW, Twin Projekt - we are dealers for all of these, so can advise accordingly.

If you are going springs only, there is one set available which @Chilli Jam Vans can supply.

If you want to stay warranty friendly for the suspension then the eibach coilover kit is recognised by VW and will not effect your warranty in any way.

However if you are replacing the complete suspension the warranty for the suspension will carry over to the suspension supplier and VW will warrant the van.

We can fit all of these kits on site, correctly aligned afterwards, or send as mail order.
