Upgraded suspension for work van

Hi everyone. Just looking for some advice. I’ve got a t28 that’s a work van it’s done 115,000 miles now. It constantly carries a lot of weight in the back especially over the back axle, I’d go as far as saying it’s borderline on the maximum weight capacity. The back of the van is quite low where the front is now high. The ride quality is horrendous feeling every bump or cats eye on the road.

What suspension set up would be the best to level the van out and what cope with the heavier load and hopefully make the van more comfortable? Also should I be looking up upgrade the bushes and mounts.

Thank you.

Eibach rear levelling springs are a cost effective means of restoring ride height in a heavily laden van. They come with poly top mounts and standard, and it's worth paying the little extra for the bottom mounts too.

You can go more sophisticated than that with different springs and dampers all round, dependent on your budget and requirements.

The ride could equally be the tyres and pressures, so worth worth taking a holistic approach if ride quality is a priority.

T32 back springs might help, are real easy to change DIY and can be got for beer money. Might be worth a shot.

Given your location, I’d suggest you have a chat with @CRS Performance in Cannock
Another thumbs up for Steve and the crew at CRS Performance in Cannock. They fitted T32 rear springs to my T28 back in May. Excellent advice and service. Good value too. Much more cost effective than my local independent VW garage. Highly recommend that you give them a call.

Have you ever weighed it? You really don't want to get caught being overloaded.

Also bear in mind that even if you do 'upgrade' the suspension, the van will still be plated with the same axle loads. I believe that up-plating to a T30 is a paper exercise, so you might want to search the forum to find out about that. It will give you a little more margin to play with.
