TPMS valves on aftermarket alloys?

If I purchase new aftermarket or second-hand alloys, do I need to buy new TPMS valves or can I just reset the tyre pressure on the computer?

There are no sensors on these vans, it uses the ABS sensors to calculate wheel rotation speed so its just a simple reset in the mfd menu and changing wheels/tyres

Its a slightly more basic system than the ones that use actual sensors but it does work perhaps slightly slower to respond and annoyingly it does tend to throw random warnings after having new wheels and/or tyres fitted, mine has spat a warning each time i have first driven the van after a rubber change but a quick pressure check and reset in the menu then all is fine, never thrown a false warning more than once
