Did anyone else see the first of the new series on Sunday?

Is it me, or is it getting worse? Two items that I can remember (I may have fallen asleep) One was the driving about in so called track cars, ending in a race against F1 drivers (yawn) then the Eddie Kid piece. OK, but seemed to be dragged out way too long.

I feel that I need to watch it just in case it is good, so let's see if this Sunday is any better.

I’ve been watching old episodes on iPlayer. Back from 2002ish. It’s quite good to hear their opinion of a ‘new’ car from nearly 20 years ago.

My thoughts exactly

I still watch it, but at the end of every episode I think to myself, "why did I bother watching that"
I used to really enjoy it when Clarkson and Co were the presenters.

Chris Harris is like an annoying uncle trying too too hard to be young and funny. Much better when he is alone and in a car giving his opinion.

I gave up on Top Gear years ago. Although I'd been getting a bit disenchanted with their stunts and generally puerile behaviour for a while, I can remember the exact episode when I knew I'd had enough and never watched it again - the one where they decided to try caravanning and eventually set fire to one 'by accident' (and, no, I'm not and never have been a caravannist). I tried the first episodes of the both the BBC and Sky reboots but just thought same old, same old.

The midwife that delivered Clarkson has a lot of questions to answer for.

I'll usually still put it on and half watch it/fall asleep. I like cars and if nothing else you get to see some beautifully shot footage of some nice ones. Clarkson et al used to be okay but became completely unwatchable to me. Actually don't mind the new lot, Chris Harris knows what he's on about and McGuiness's piece on Eddie Kidd was lovely I thought.

In fairness, it does appear that she slapped him around the face quite hard rather than on his arse (understandable mistake to make).............unfortunately, she should have finished the job!
I spat my coffee across the table:slow rofl:

What I didn't say in my earlier post was that I actually met Jeremy Clarkson about 15 years ago (through work). My lasting impression was that he was a bit of a tosser.

I’ve met him a couple of times. Once in the 90’s and he was quite chatty but again in 2008 and he just made himself scarce during a filming break on Top Gear. James May was delightful and was actually dishing out cups of tea!
