After having my van for three years, I have decided to sell my van and move on to a new one. Its had a full camper conversion by a local specialist, but this time looking to get it fitted out in a different way. Gone will be the gas hob, rarely used, and to replace with an induction hob. I guess as you get to use these vans you get to see whats important to you, and whats not so much. I dont regret doing it the way it was, just want something more specific to requirements. Now comes the interesting bit sourcing another van, I know what I want, and what I dont want, let the search begin....

Do you need a fixed induction hob? Have you discounted a portable one and, if so, why?

That was my conclusion too - provides greater flexibility and more clear worktop space (plus they're dirt cheap compared to built-in versions).

To be fair, the hobs used outside in the awning most of the time, but for greater flexibility I may consider a slide out kitchen set up at the rear of the van. It's really getting to realise what you need/want thats important.
