A few months back I decided to sell my previous camper and start all over, simply because the previous build was pretty much 'off the shelf', and while it was done well, much of it was unused. I guess a day van fits my needs better.
I decided thats as the vast majority of the cooking was done outside, or in the awning, the kitchen wasnt a necessity, nor were all the cupboards. After finding a decent donor van, a late buld kombi, the initial plan was to use the rear sets and go down the forty winks bed route, however after a visit to a local convertors he showed me a mobi frame bed and floor and I was sold on its versatility. The van went in late March and hoping to get it back next week.
So far its had the kombi seats and flooring removed and sold.
Insulation and carpet lining, a 12 v electric system with a 300ah battery built into its own battery box that fits underneath the mobi frame just! For lighting as its a SWB van decided to go with 4 touch spots so I can have all lights on, or individually as needed, alongside other 12v appliances, Things have been delayed slightly while the 12v side is generally OK, because it has a bluetti charger2 and the van has a smart alternator a D+ cable is needed, Bluetti in their wisdom are not making these available until June, so the relevant connectors have been sought, so the cable can be nmade up, and are due to be fitted Tuesday next week. For the 240 side of things I will either use a hook up, a power bank, or could go back to the original plan in the future adding an inverter.
a few pics from the build
Shame it wasnt ready for the weekend, but looking forward to getting it back.
