Motorhome sold.
So the search is on for my T6. To have what I want is out the question and a quick tally up of costs would be around the 75k so that’s not going to happen. I am sticking to a budget for the van of 35/40 K and then the rest I will do as and when. So what do I want.
I keep seeing vans I like and change my mind more than my pants so a rough idea.
LWB
DSG
TAILGATE
FSH
LOW MILES
2020 onwards
But then I see a swb I really like and it might even be manual, and then I see a full on camper conversion. Something will catch my eye and I will be drawn to it. Watch this space.
In the mean time would appreciate any advice in what to not buy etc

SWB are more plentiful, but might not suit your needs. How many folk will be aboard on a camping trip?

As I mentioned on another thread, dont discount a great van because its manual. I thought I wanted DSG, and I get it if its your daily. I regularly drive my 6 speed 150bhp T6.1 and its no hardship. I forget how good it is each time I do. And mines done 100k and drives like its done half that.

But if I had the space I would go LWB.

Only two of us. I have had three T4’s before now. One LWB and two SWB.

There are so many vans out there for sale and I hate the plus vat adverts and peaple that don’t get back to you about their van.
So far
Contacted a dealer about the vat and any movement on price. No fixed price, the van has been for sale for four months.
Messaged two ebay sellers with questions. No reply’s
Messaged a converter because I found a panel van I liked just to get an idea of cost I would spend on top of van. No reply.
Messaged another one about a price for delivering as it says on website they deliver. It would be a five hour drive each way for me. I would have payed for the van up front. Said he was busy and gave me no price.
Still searching.

I bet they have their mobile number / business email in the ad’ somewhere to get a direct deal instead of paying Ebay fees.

I feel you, I had the same issues and then decided if you cant come back to me im out and move on.

It's amazing how hard you have to chase people to give them money

@Hobo Mikey Just remember when you are searching for a van its feels like things aren't coming up, too far away or are selling quickly or (insert justification here). As soon as you buy one there will be loads available and you will come across a better one.

Take your time, do your research and dont pay for something you haven't driven.

Thanks guys for reply’s. It’s just frustrating like you say, you’re trying to give them money and it’s like they don’t want to sell or can’t be bothered. If they can’t be bothered why advertise it.

I know where you’re coming from. It’s the ones that don’t get back to me frustrate me. Wife says be patient but now the motorhome has gone I want a T6 yesterday to enjoy summer.
The search goes on.

The wife just pointed out to me that the motorhome only went last Sunday so not even a week ago. I said it feels like a month, I need a T6 in my life. Have another beer she says. Answer was yes.

Anyway a van will come along. Dont be too fussy buddy. On reflection my T6.1 aint perfect, but its a damn good van all the same. I have always believed that if it feels right then it is right.
