The Jokes Thread...

They identify as an appliance
We had one night in Reykjavík in between moving rivers in Iceland last weekend.
It was Saturday night.
Just so happened to be a huge gay pride rally.
100 000 folk attended. Place was mobbed with some very interesting characters.
We couldn’t even park our car outside the digs as the event was so close to them.
Wonder when our heterosexual man massive rally is taking place?
Or can I get arrested for even saying that these days??

Organise one. You are completely free to do so and that’s all that happens for these other groups - someone (maybe even by committee) within the group organises an event and invites like minded people.

I have just a few gay friends, they tend to be fun loving and into any event that involves a bit of a laugh.
That leaves the vast majority of of my friends and associates who are straight, a good proportion spend too much time trying to impress others and worrying about letting their inner being loose.
So as for a heterosexual rally, it would probably be crap.

Me too but the ones I’m friends with as much as they are great fun just want to be left alone and get on with it. And dont feel the need to celebrate their sexuality which was kind of my point.

But that’s OK too though isn’t it?
If a group of like minded people want to get together and organise and pay for that (celebration, party, whatever)… good on them.
If others can’t be bothered or don’t see the need… nobody is forcing them to do it.

Equally there will have been people in the LGBT community that didn’t want to go and there will have been straight folks that went and had a hoot. Nobody forced anyone to go and nobody said you’re not welcome.

I really don’t see the problem.

Given that the population of Iceland is only about 400,000, I reckon any event that can muster the 100,000 mentioned by @The Flying Scotsman deserves every success and all the support they can get. Good luck finding a quarter of the UK population (ie. about 17M) or, even that of Scotland (I think about 1.4M) to unite and enjoy themselves like that.

It used to happen every year up here the whole of Scotland much more than a quarter of Scots would unite and most houses would have an open door and a party on the go and party’s in the street joining together to celebrate Hogmanay.

I’ve no idea how many attended the pride march in Iceland but that news article said they were expecting 100 000 people to attend.
I have absolutely no problem with gay people as mentioned I have gay friends whose friendship I value.
My pals laddie identifies as a girl.
I couldn’t care less about someone’s sexuality but am getting fed up of the huge push to support homosexuality.
It’s not required. They are pushing being gay as being cool and trendy these days. They are just confusing young people.
Being gay is not a choice.
Nobody can pick their likes and dislikes and thats the same as not being able to choose who you are sexually attracted to.
My good gay pals feel exactly the same as me about this. They are sick of this big gay movement being forced on everyone and just want to get on with it.
Just like Wayne’s colleague.

Freedom of expression, get used to not agreeing with everything and be glad you have a choice. In many parts of the world people live in fear of saying or doing what they want.
