So for the last week it has sounded exactly like I have a stone or nail in the OSF tyres. Today jacked it up spin it and nothing. Same for all 4 corners. It's defo one click per rotation and happens straight as well as turning. Could it be a CV joint? Gators fine, no leaks, drives fine. For reference, T32 DSG LWB Caravelle, lowered 100mm. 140k miles so probably due a CV joint.

If it's the CV then the sound may change when turning? Could be a gator clip?
Did you try (carefully) jacking the hub to simulate the suspension being at it's normal driving height?

Have you tried swopping the wheels around to see if the noise moves with the wheel? Had this on a a VW Golf and changed the CV joints before realizing it was the tyre.

Thanks for the ideas. Done about 1500 miles on it now and still there. Plan on rotating wheels this weekend as I'm 10k miles since fitting the summer wheels so due to be jacked up . Also developed a knocking NSR today so need to investigate that too.
