Tailgate internal door lock release

Morning T6 people
Have had my T6 2017 lwb van converted into a crew van putting a second row of seats in and a solid partion behind them so I’ve still got a seperate rear part for my work stuff.
Only problem is the rear tailgate door only opens from the outside and for safety I need to be able to open the catch from inside. Anyone solved this problem/ideas would be most welcome, thanks
