Looking for ideas for table in my camper set up.
I’ve a LWB shuttle, with a Slidepod in the rear. When we go away we intend to just keep 2 of the middle row seats in the van, and create a seating area with the front seats on swivels and the middle row. We need a table set up for this front space, that is ideally sturdy but easy to store…
I’m in process of switching out the carpet for a 12mm ply floor but otherwise am keeping as much trim as possible and want to avoid drilling into the actual van unless necessary . Im planning to bond the ply floor to battens (plus I’ve retained the lashing points so should help keep secure).
Option 1 would be a sequoia leg table drilled into the ply floor. I’m thinking I could add a fitting to the Slidepod table that clips to the rear to make multi-purpose although may be too big for the space.
Main concern would be whether just screwing into the 12mm ply would be sturdy enough if knocked, especially as quite close to the front edge.
Option two would be an ovano style b puller table (I’d replace the shuttle b pillar for standard to fit). Downside here is having to screw into the actual van, plus it’s a smaller table and I’d need to store 2 tables… despite the ovano looking a neat bit of kit.
Anyone have experiences of either of these types of table or done similar especially with a sequoia table just into ply? Attached a pic of the Slidepod table, plus one roughly showing where I’d be screwing into the ply.
