T6 Tailgate not unlocking - internal, external

Hi All,

My tailgate stopped working. After investigation, I can only see that the metal rod, which should pull the tailgate lock, is not working. The parts seem to be okay when compared against the new one. Has anyone had a similar issue?

Just had to change the handle ( switch part) and the lock today
My tailgate was not opening and tried the handle first it opened 2 out of 10 times ,but it turned out to be both units
Now working ok
Cost about £100 for both parts genuine easy to do

Yes no problem
These were from 2 different suppliers
When you change the handle you have to take off the painted part 2 screws and then be careful when removing use a small trim tool to ease the edges then it pops off.

My problem must be with the latch mechanism because when I press the handle, the mechanism pulls the rod, but the latch does not release.

make sure the lock has not moved ,undo the 2 bolts and make sure it is pushed back just in case its not latching in correctly.
