T6 side lamps on but dash lights not lit up until headlamps are on

Hi, come across something with my T6 lights. When I turn on the side lamps the dash controls light up but not the speedo or rev counter, but as soon as headlamps get turned on then the speedo and rev counter lights up, is this standard?

That's to let you know that you are driving with parking lights on as opposed to headlights.

When you say parking lights, you mean side lights? Never seen this before but hey ho I am a bit prehistoric when it comes to tech

Yeah its to stop you driving round at night thinking your dipped beams are on when in reality your driving round with drl/sidelights on.

I don’t think it works all that well with the amount of people who drive without lights on

Yeah mainly in other vehicle brands, dont usually see that many transporters!
