Cab Mood lighting correct wire

Hi guys
I’ve got all the wiring done in the doors and in the footwell for the cab mood lighting and the instructions say to pick up the grey/ blue wire in the headlamp switch to power it but my question is will this put the mood lighting on when the auto lights go on? (Which is what I want). Or will it only turn the mood lighting on when I manually switch to side lights?

The grey/blue wire is the instrument lighting so they’ll come on when the dash lights up.

I wanted to connect my footwell lighting through the light switch. I measured plug number 10 with a multimeter and it shows 3V when the light is on. It should show 12V. What could it be?
