T6 Multivan Electric Sliding Door Reversing While Closing

The RH electric sliding door on my Multivan intermittently reverses while closing — sometimes straight away, other times just before latching. It closes smoothly, then suddenly triggers the safety reversal and flies open again.

Tracks have been fully cleaned and lubricated; I also found and replaced two loose bolts in the hidden rear track (Loctited), but the issue persists.

I suspect a faulty pinch sensor in the door seal. I’ve got a multimeter ready but can’t locate the sensor wiring or connector — any pointers?

OBDeleven shows door-related errors but won’t expand them. The dealer was no help (missed the loose bolts and only “cleaned” the tracks).

Any advice on testing the pinch sensor or known wiring/module faults would be much appreciated.

I've had this problem for the past 3 weeks its been driving me mad. It was due to a worn roller, but not collapsed. Usually you can push/assist it close but this time it was just bouncing back. When I got hold of the outer handle and lifted it while it was closing it shut fine. I've since fitted a new bottom roller and all is fine now. Hope you get it sorted because it's so bloody annoying.

You legend! I had suspected a problem in this area as the lower roller seems loose but still functions. I’ll change it over asap. Thank you 🙏

We just got our T6 Caravelle a week ago and this has started happening this week to our LH door - any idea what the part number is for this bottom roller? It is bloody annoying, especially when the kids are opening the door to get in but can't get it to close so you have to get out, walk round to sort it!

If they are electric then these might work. I asked ChatGTP who in turn asked for the VIN then confirmed these- Left (Nearside/Passenger Side)Lower Roller Guide7E0843397LRight (Offside/Driver Side)Lower Roller Guide7E0843398H
