Has anyone got a new 18 t6 lwb ,,Just looked under mine and found only one box and 16ins of pipe that stops under drives seat does not go all the way to the back more cut backs or is to do with adblue ??????????????????????

Pretty cool when I was installing the Cali bed rails. Dropping and reinstalling the exhaust took 5 minutes :):):):):):)

Like on mine. I assume VW have fitted all the original designed exhaust heat shields front to back on yours too?

Probably a generic build item and due to the 204's needing a full exhaust system still.

Just a little word of warning on this. The official factory notice states that the short exhaust is for N1 GOODS VEHICLES. In the factory they still fit a long exhaust IF the vehicle has passengers in it, e.g. windowed van, california, caravelle etc. If you're doing any conversion work and therefore have passengers above and behind the exhaust discharge, e.g. camper van, taxi, wheelchair accessible, minibus etc the current stock answer is you shouldn't start with a van but should've ordered a window van!

I'm in discussions right now with VWUK to clarify what should happen with the conversion market. Even though they still make the long exhaust for their factory built window vans, california and caravelle they're currently stating that the long exhaust should not be fitted to anything that starts life as a panel van. Squaring this circle will be an issue going forward for conversions on VW's I think.

I'm more concerned in driving / queueing behind the old dirty diesel vehicles that belch out all that sh!te. The EU6 engine exhaust position is far less a concern.

Yep - I'd tend to agree with you - I follow enough Land Rovers up here in the Dales to cough like a 40 woodbine a day man. But from a product liability perspective there's definitely a reason why VW fit different exhausts depending on the application. If it's you're own vehicle I wouldn't worry overly as when your driving the slipstream will take the fumes well away anyway and as you say sitting in traffic even without the stop/start kicking in, you'll draw in more fumes from the Vectra in front than the VW Eu6 underneath :)

Just a follow up on the my18 short exhausts. VW have issued the parts for line built passenger carrying Transporters, and basically around £150 of parts converts the exhaust system to a long tail discharge as per the Caravelles and California's from the factory. Well be fitting this mod to any conversions we do that come in with the short exhaust.
