T6 led rear light clusters for tailgate models

Hi,

I'm getting my T6 very soon, well in about two hours, I've seen the above kit in the t6 shop.
One question I have is in the description it states the wire to make the fog and reverse lights to work on both sides is additional wiring.
I assume this is best done before insulation and carpeting, can it be done post this ? how much of a faff

Also my Van will be a 17reg, any idea if it needs coding and if so what needs coding ?

Thanks

Paul

Its best done before any lining work, basically the existing lights will only have five wires connected to each light but to activate the additional fog/reverse light you need to run a cable from the light each side up inside the D pillar and join onto the wire for the opposing side
Installing/connecting the wire requires removing both rear quarter panels (above the wheel arches) and the rear most roof panel

Just a thought ... and I might be wrong..

It says on the site that coding may be needed to activate the bulb failure warning.

If your bulbs work then you wouldn't have noticed the need for recoding ???

That's kind of a default warning I put there to cover our asses but I have never seen a van that needs coding, generally it's plug and play but I have noticed many variations in the coding between different vehicles so I leave the warning in place as it's possible someone will need to do it at some point

Yes but as mentioned above there is always the possibility of a false bulb out warning that would need VCDS to clear it but highly unlikely, not had one yet
