T6 High level brake light not working

I noticed the other day that the brake light in my tailgate was not working.
A replacement was ordered and I have fitted it today, but it still doesn't work. I assumed the unit was faulty as only one side of it had worked for a while.
Unfortunately, I fittied it before I tested it, so am no longer able to check power to it whothout breaking it out.
I will check to see if I can find out if it is on a seperate fuse, but everything else seems to work.
The wiring in the bendy bit in the tailgale all looks OK. Any ideas whether it is a faulty unit or what the fault may be?

Any chance you could have the polarity reversed?

Is the plug in good condition? The pins have been known to corrode

The plug will only go in one way, so polarity should be alright.
The plug looked good.
I have spoken to the company I got my light from and they have said it nis probably a faulty unit.
I've now ordered a genuine VW one and will keep my fingers crossed.
Shame they have to be broken up to get them out.

Turned out to be a faulty unit.
