Looking at all 3 diagrams, they all seem to show the same wiring layout, which is good.

What I’m trying to work out is which wire is the light sensor for the auto light aspect?

Any ideas?

Sounds like you are asking about the LIN-BUS wire linking RLS unit with the BCM.

Hi @Robert, I’m not sure?

I don’t have the auto facility today, but saw some threads on how to add it with an after market light switch with sensor and was curious how it worked?

Is it as simple as two wires from a light sensor connect to two of the pins in the 10 pin light switch connector ?

The light switch used in this is not 'oem' it has some intelligence in it that uses the light sensor to artificially turn the lights on and off. As far as the van will be concerned, it will see the same signals out as if someone is rotating the dial but in reality it is left on 'Auto'. Down sides, when you get in/out in the dark it will play you the lights left on 'dinging'.

It was one of the first things i did to mine as it was not blessed with factory auto lights, which i have in other vehicles...and it certainly prevents me driving around without any lights on!

It would be great to know how the ‘intelligence’ in these things works,

I’m not blessed with the Auto light either on my T6, which one did you specifically go with?

I suspect they are all much the same, mine was from travelinlite however.
