T6 - CJKB - TSI 2.0 - 2017 | Waterpump leakage?

Hi there!

I am dealing with a severe coolant leak. After removing the undertray, I traced it to the water pump/thermostat module at the front of the block. (at least as far as I can see)
As shown in the attached video, it sprays a solid stream when revving at 90°C. It seems not to under this threshold.

Context: The cylinder head was revised 16,000 km ago. Its now on 106.000 total km's. (LPG modified)
  1. How Can I verify If I have a EA888 Gen 2 or 3 (its most likely a GEN 2)
  2. Does any of you have experienced with this?
  3. Is it worth upgrading the waterpump part? (there seems to be an upgrade from the first version) and which version did you use?
  4. What costs should I take into account?
Any other advice?

Thats a pitty, not much help yet. Not too many TSI owners I guess

In the meanwhile, I've ordered the waterpump and some other stuff thats required for replacing, hoping this will do the job.
Have an appointment on the 30th of March.

Ordered Parts List (VW T6 2.0 TSI - Engine Code: CJKB / EA888 Gen 2)​

  • Water Pump & Thermostat Module (Solid Aluminum Upgrade): INA 538 0967 10
    (Note: Fully assembled unit, includes the main profile gasket, thermostat, and coolant temperature sensor).
  • Water Pump Toothed Drive Belt: Bosch 1 987 949 661(Drives the pump via the balance shaft).
  • Coolant Union Pipe: Original Imperium 90726 (Connecting pipe between the water pump and the engine oil cooler, includes new O-rings).
  • Intake Manifold Gasket: Febi Bilstein 36776 (Primary seal between the plastic manifold and the aluminum cylinder head).
  • Throttle Body Gasket: Febi Bilstein 39736 (Seal for the throttle valve connection).
  • Fuel Injector Seal / Repair Kit: Elring 485.410 (Quantity: 4x) (Includes the combustion chamber Teflon seal, spacer rings, and O-ring for each direct injector).
