T6 (2016) front bench seat 'middle seat belt & buckle' replacement

Has anyone replaced this seatbelt and buckle mechanism. My buckle does not work, however the buckle can only be replaced by also replacing the connected seatbelt (very annoying).

To change the seatbelt, you have to take the seat back off. From what I can see you disconnect the top plastic fixing (done), start to remove the cloth seat covering so exposing the foam (started to do) and then the seatbelt mechanism seems to be behind a wooden board (perhaps). This is when I though ... is this right. I'm pretty sure it is, but cannot find any links on the site from someone who might have done before.

Have you got a folding double seat? Most fit a board in the back of the seat.

It's the folding double seat with a board under the seat fabric.

The board should just pull out and you'll be able to get up inside the seat then.

It didn’t get the seat cover fully off, was concerned I wouldn’t get it back on. Thank I've found a thread
