T6.1 Kombi auxiliary heating explained?

Hi there

Yet to see my new Kombi in the flesh but it was specced by someone with the Auxiliary parking heater etc. option and I need to let my van converter know the details.

I assume the product itself is a Webasto or similar diesel heater mounted under the van.

Can anyone explain where that actually heats when parked up? Is it the cab area only, the rear of the van or the whole van?

Also, where are the heating vents located exactly?

I assume the second battery is under the front passenger seat? Need t9 know that in advance for a stereo upgrade.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I’m not 100% sure as your a T6.1 but I can’t imagine it will be any different to a T6.

The second battery will be under the passenger seat. The programmable air heater will be fitted under the van and will be vented through the bottom of the drivers side B pillar. It will heat the whole of the van, back and front. The controller for it will be in the cab roof cubbyhole. The auxiliary coolant heater will be automatically fired up when needed to help the engine get up to temperature quicker on cold days.

Thanks. Very helpful.

So just the one outlet vent to the whole van?
Yes, easily. Here's an image
