T6.1 General newbie questions

Hey folks,


Camper newbie here. Planning on buying a new T6.1 this spring/early summer.

A few general questions that I hope folks can help me with:

1. How does insurance work on motor homes / campers as opposed to insurance on ordinary cars (are there any differences)? Please share any useful links

2. Is there a long wait on buying a new van from VW (pre-conversion). (I heard it might be as long as 9 months?!)

3. How does MOT/Servicing on VW campers work? Can any ordinary garage do this? Or must I go via a specialist?

1.) I've just had to cancel my car insurance with Admiral as they dont cover Vans - I opted to go with 'Just Kampers'
2.) I believe so, i've heard many conversion companies say they are struggling for stock
3.) I'm not on this one but I would've thought any normal MOT garage could do it
