T6.1 Front & Rear Badges

After looking at our new to us T6.1 California I noticed that the badge on the steering wheel was the new VW logo and the badges on grille and tailgate were the old style. Looking around this appears to be the norm. Why is this? Wouldn't it be better if it was the new style logo inside and out?

I suspect that as the T6.1 order book is now closing there is little value in investing in retooling for exterior branding updates, but the steering wheel is common with other vehicles (hence the number of threads adding Golf steering wheels) so that tooling has been updated.
