T6.1 engine mapping

Hi. I bought a 2020 T6.1 110 back in October. I’m looking into getting it remapped - partly for a bit more oomph on motorway runs since it occasionally can’t cope with a motorway hill, but partly to improve the economy as I’m getting in the region of 36 mpg on a cruise control motorway journey at 60 mph. I’ve established it does not have the problematic Bosch ECU.
I’ve found a company near me called Remaps Manchester. Offering a Stage 1 “Eco” remap taking bhp from 102 to 146, torque from 250 to 320 (both pretty believable) and economy improvements of 10-25 (I’ll take this with a pinch of salt!).

Does anyone have any insight into Remaps Manchester or any other wisdom they could share?
Anything I should be looking out for with these companies?
How do I tell if I’m being offered a good remap or a bad one?
Thanks

Hi, I can give you no feedback on Remaps Manchester, however the above link gives you my experience with a 2016 T6 102 bhp with a 5 speed gearbox.
Viezu are a generic map supplier. If I was to do this again with that particular engine gearbox set-up I would use pendle performance as their map if far more linear. Don't get me wrong the Viezu map is excellent if you have mechanical sympathy, the pay off was the improved MPG. The map I had also has very similar performance figures.
Hope this helps in some way.

If yours is a DNxx or a DMxx engine T6.1 (i.e a T6.2 ;) ) there is no easy way to mapping, unless you want to send your ECU to some misterious place in Germany.
You are limited to Tune-Boxes.
From the year you should be safe, though, the earliest one I heard of is a 2021 model.

BTW, unless you are towing your yacht, I find it difficult to believe that your 110 hp "can’t cope with a motorway hill" .
I have a 110hp too , and we have a damn good choice of hilly motorways here, between Austia and Switzerland, but it "copes" with them pretty good , even with 1/2 ton + in the back. Maybe you should get it checked by a good garage. Or maybe it is a matter of expectations. My Merceds SUV "copes" with them a little (but not spectacularly) better. My former Posche did much better too...

Go on then, so why's my DNAA a T6.2?

Mines a 6 speed manual 150 and I'd like a bit more for motorways and hills ... but Bosch of course.

Of course it is... ;) ;) ;)
And I will stop here, do you search if you want :) .

More seriously, for my understanding the motorway hill stuff is more an issue with the 6 speed. While extremely useful of flat, it might be a little too "long" on hilly roads. If you hit a road that is borderline, you may find yourself switching to much between 6th and 5th, that can be annoying at times. That said, I would have got a 6 gear box on mine too, if it was available here.

I have a CXHC engine, with Delphi ECU, not Bosch. More luck than judgement!
I did say it ‘occasionally’ couldn’t cope. For example, with just me in the van (plus the weight of the camper conversion), no yacht, and with cruise control set to 60mph, it occasionally asks to go from 5th to 4th gear. Perhaps it is a question of expectations - this is my first van ever.

My 110 manages motorway gradients just fine, despite being a touch over geared due to larger wheels/tyres and permanently having a conversion abord.

Itd probably be sensible for the OP to find out what it wrong with it before trying to eke out more shove.

I find my 6th gear very usable at 60mph or above on the flat. 1st is a bit 'short'. That's on 235/55/18 tyres. Speedo is spot on with GPS.
