I'm looking to get a leisure battery installed but don't know the first thing about it, or where to source the components in New Zealand (I'm based in Tauranga). I already have a deep cycle 102Ah battery to fit under the passenger seat, just need the rest.
Is it possible to use the existing factory cable harnesses (as I see there is a thick red cable under the passenger seat that goes nowhere) and earth it to the body or do I have to run new cable(s) from the bonnet? Any kits (or authorised installers) out there that won't affect my warranty?
I tried to order the OEM leisure battery kit from the local VW dealer but they can't find any relevant parts on their system. Any advice on this is appreciated.
