T6.1 console light

Whilst waiting for some modules for the led headlights I am currently installing, I thought I would start to to do some sound deadening in the van.

Like all things, it spiralled .

I want to say thank you to DUBHAUS for showing the route he went regarding his central console light. Absolutely loved this idea, so decided to have ago.
Blimey, this was one of the most time consuming projects I have done yet. Must of spent several hours over a few evenings filing away and 'dremmeling' plastic to make this work.
Finally it does. Buttons work correctly, no fouling or sticking with the new enlarged recess that you have to sculpt out.

Will no doubt just recheck and do some final touches before this to make it as good as I can.

Painting and fitting next.

100% agree buddy ....you just hope they end up as good as you had in your head. although you will always see the faults where others think it's perfect

Some interior pics. The A & B pillars cane out ok considering I have never done a great deal of fabric trimming. This Audi headliner material was quite tricky to work with. Almost zero stretch. Glad I over ordered

Everything works as it should, so happy days.

Looks spot on that bud! Makes a massive difference to the feel of the cab!

When I did mine I bought the new black buttons with the intention of doing what you do. In the end I just sprayed the oem ones! TBH you can't even tell theres anything amiss!

Thank you tommy, if memory serves me correctly, you bought some of my dash trim. How's this holding up mate?

Yeah all holding up really well, cheers mate! One of the best things I did to the cab. Doesn't feel like a van anymore!
