T6.1 bench to single conversion

Happy new year folks

I seem to be able to find vids & threads to mod from twin bench to single in a T6, and even going from single to bench in a 6.1. But I cant seem to find anything to convert from bench seating to single in a T6.1, I dont want to just assume that the T6 conversion is exactly the same as the T6.1. Im assuming the fuse connections are different under the seat ?

I'm really struggling to find a 6 seater T6.1 Kombi with these specs. There's a lot more availability of 5 seaters, so I'm thinking I could maybe buy a 5 seater and convert the single front passenger seat to a double seat. Problem is, I don't know whether it can be done safely, and if it can, how much expense/work is involved.

I've been told by a VW dealer that it's totally fine to swap the double for a single, but when I asked about swapping the airbag they said they didn't know anything about that. Obviously, I want the conversion to be 100% safe.

It’s the same. Jsut check wiring of seat bases as might need some adapting if got plugs that don’t match. Don’t sell your double until all done.

Thanks, I assumed if sourcing a T6.1 seat that the connections would be the same ?

Well it’s hard to know. I mean I got a 6.1 and a matching single passenger in same material however it didn’t have the same wiring on it. Now it might be that materials patterns crossed over hard to really know etc etc. it’s fixable. There is a bit in my shuttleshenanigans thread as well on a couple of other threads on wiring changes.

Hi, sorry for jumping on.....I'm the recent owner of some Audi Q5 S-line seats from a 2019 and also doing a 2+1 arrangement to 2 fixed seats. Have ordered adaptors from THQ and a single base. Do you by any chance have any wiring adaptors for a 2023 T6.1?

Both have heated seats, but the Audi ones have 4 wires into a green plug, the T6.1 seats don't have airbags Yellow plug which i am not planning to touch, and the Audi seats have manual adjustment apart from a 4 way lumber which looks like the Red plug.

Do i understand correctly that that the occupancy sensor on the passenger side (black plug) needs wiring to allow the dashboard airbag to fire when passenger present, and that the drivers side seat belt buckle needs to be transferred onto the Audi seat?
