T5 Rear heater control panel

Hello!

I have a 2013 Caravelle T5. On the roof in the back of the car the control panel for heat/ac have is not lightning up anymore. No air is coming out of the vents, even if I on the control panel in the front push "rear" and turn the fan all the way up. Took out the panel and I did see some corrotion on the plug and print board. Maybe just a easy swap to a new one?

I have now got a "new" used display from a similar car that the seller said was working. Put when plugged in nothing lights up. If I measure on terminal 20 and 19 I get 12 volt when ignition turned on and 14 volt while running. Pretty sure its getting is getting it power, but no light or air is coming ut of the vents in the rear no matther what I am doing.

So where to look next?

1. The pins on the used new unit looks good 2. Pins on the used one looks corroded/shortcut

3. Some corroded pins on the female plug. I have cleaned them 4.

Those pins on the old plug that were damaged may have damaged female plug terminals. Are you sure they are ok, both visually and electrically.

Sand down the bits which are damaged or put those cables in a spade and connector ssee photos attached. if your worried place a fuse terminal between joints to stop over current. Edits for spelling, as I'm not a native tongue.

The only visible thing I found was this:

Brought to one local repair specialist but he refused to look into it deeper after short diagnoses as there are no diagrams available...

I got VW to fit a new one in the end. Apparently after a hot 2022 Summer (in UK) many had failed - the circuit board gets baked. Told the newer part better able to withstand hot temps.

By chance do you know or can check in invoice the newer part is 7E5907049C or the same 7E5907049B.

From what I have found for Climatronic Multivan:
7E5907049A goes for T5 (buttons differ a bit from T5.1)
7E5907049B goes for T5.1
7E5907049C goes for T6 (buttons same as T5.1)
