This article got me thinking...

In the event of a civil emergency, such as widespread power cuts, loss of water supply, etc, we're pretty well set as as Transporter owners, particularly those of us with campers.

I can cook food and have enough gas for several days. I can store food in the fridge. I have solar to run it all. I have a webasto heater to keep me warm it happens during winter. I always have about 40 litres of fresh water in the tank (regularly drained, flushed and refilled.)

With all that I could survive a good while, or bugger off somewhere quiet for a bit while the hordes riot.

So how would you fare in a civil emergency with you Transporter, and have you ever done so?

Strange as we had that sort of thing happen here in Spain on the 28 April. All power went off no mobile network, TV channels and in some cases water went off. So far a few folk have died as their oxygen machine fails do to not power. We where fine as our camper-van is always ready to go (old Army thing!!!) so we went down and got power brick, portable gas cooker, some tins (in case it failed to come back on) and our Starlink mini dish. Within 20 minutes were where up and running with electric via power brick, internet, TV and hot water for a brew. after 10 hours of no power we where supplying neighbours with hot water and hot food if needed. Lucky it was nice and warm here so no heating needed.
All power etc came back up 12/14 hours later, but what a blessing the camper-van was.
