Had my 2023 T6.1 serviced at VW main dealers and after noticing oil drips on the drive way and the plastic under tray oil contaminated i thought what the hell is going off here . not a lot of room in the garage as i have old bay window bus i am restoring and have no room to work on the T6 ...so took it down to a reputable garage 150 yds away from my house as i didn't wish to drive all the way to the dealership .

i asked if i could wait to see what they would find and they said yes fine won't be long ...off came the plastic cover to reveal a loose sump bung it was just finger tight . Fortunately it lost not to much oil to make any real difference on the dip stick which i checked before driving it there .
If i had not noticed the oil it would have probably completely worked loose and the result would be unimaginable .
I am off to see them tomorrow and give them what for and expect some sort of compensation ...if not for cleaning the mess on my new block paving drive way . 700 miles have been done since the service so i can at least have the satisfaction that it could have been a lot worse .

Crikey good job you noticed!
I wouldn’t expect much in the way of an apology from main stealers! Took my old van back to them after I bought it for some paintwork issues they didn’t sort before I picked up only to find a big crack in the windscreen when I questioned it there response was prove we did it probably like that when you dropped it off! Never been back since I wouldn’t give them the time of day.
Best of luck tho👍

I wouldn't waste my breath, nothing positive will come of venting at them and you'll have wasted even more time.

Instead I'd be all over Trust pilot, Google reviews, social media, etc, telling thenworld of my experience.

Ours returned from having work to sort an oil leak .
It came back with 2 oil leaks and a bill for £2k.
I tracked 1 leak down to a mangled O- ring that they'd fitted and I think I've just found the other .

A main dealer?
Are you sure that they did that and not a previous mechanic?
Come on - enough is enough. If it was the main dealer - which one?

Whats a previous mechanic got to do with the last service i had at the main dealers ...i had the first service done also by the same dealers . I will tell you who they are if they pee me off when i tell them what they have done and they don't take any responsibility when i think enough is enough about the second service .

If you think there are two washers you are mistaken the sump plugs are machined like that…IMG_5447.jpeg

A very good mate of mine had the exact same issue with his T6.1, bloody worrying if that's the level of service from a main dealer.

I’ve always replaced the sump plugs on our VWs (rightly or wrongly) and never had a leak.

Copper washers can be re annealed (on the cooker) but that doesnt make profit!
