Subwoofer.....

Currently have a Pioneer AVIC headunit, Blam front component speakers and Audison rear coaxial speakers, all driven by a BLAM amplifier.

I have no room under my fronts seats (both have leisure batteries in their bases).

I'm interested in fitting a subwoofer to fill out the lower end of the sound. Not looking for thumping bass (and the compromises necessary to achieve it), just more low end when on the move. I have a SLidepod fitted in the rear of the van.

I'm looking at this: TS-WX70DA

Anyone on here have any experience of one of these? Worthwhile?

I've been looking at various options but like the simplicity of this and I can accommodate it without any real compromise in the van.

TIA.

Can see the tumble weed from here.....

Might be having a re-think on this in any case. Yesterday I replaced the (only very recently fitted) BLAM 165RX speakers fitted in the back of my van by Slidepods. Now these are component speakers so a separate bass/mid and tweeter components. One day I'll have to post a picture of where the tweeters were fitted just so everyone can have a bit of a laugh... Suffice to say this was a pretty useless installation.

So I replaced them with coaxial Audison AVX6.5. Having since made a few trips in the van, but admittedly not spent a huge amount of time in it, I'm now thinking the the sounds is pretty good. The Auditions are a massive improvement from the Blams.

Hiya

I believe we spoke a while back

That sub you posted a link is probably the best slim sub out there,

Is yours a single or twin slider? As I cannot remember

Hi Jason
Indeed we did ;)
Mine is a single slider.
Is this subwoofer something you could supply and fit? Do you think it's a reasonable way to go given my aims?

Thanks (and Happy Christmas)

We can supply and fit this sub woofer

How about a sub enclosure built into the panel opposite the sliding door ?

Speak in the new year..

@Absolut5 I was thinking under the passenger captain seat.....do you have any suggestions or options that will fit in my price range?

Is this something you've built before? My concern is how much space it would occupy - my van doesn't have any rear seats now but I have a packing order that works extremely well when I need to cover an event. Anything that significantly reduces the space available, or makes it an awkward shape would be a problem for me. I have some flat items (Tables, display boards, photographic backgrounds) that I stack flat against this panel when 'eventing'.

I'm keen to know more.

We can supply our custom underseat enclosure with a JL Audio sub which start from £189.00

A much more compact amp, for a easier installation is a Rainbow Dream 4

@Absolut5 Thanks for the advice, what size is the sub and how difficult are they to install? also where would be the best place to install the amp....I have a bulkhead just being the rear bench seat and was thinking of installing the amp to the bulkhead

They are 10”

Very easy to install, just remove seat, leaving base in place, slot enclosure in, screw sub in, then refit the seat, the seat runners sandwich it in place...

The amp can be fitted under the other seat,

Would the rainbow dream 4 drive the sub and some rear speakers? Also does it have a high input as running off standard discover navigation head unit?

Thread very successfully hijacked....

Would love to now more about the 'non slider' sub install.

Yes it would, but better still is amp the fronts instead, and run rears off the headunit.

Yeah it takes high level, but I suggest using a speaker to RCA on the T6, as many amps do not like the factory output direct, unless it’s a JL Audio which work superb

I can build you a plug and play adapter for this

When we do one il post pics up... it would be a slim enclosure built in behind panel, then the front panel will be the facia and using a JL Tw3 or Tw5 sub

Sorry about that....you got me thinking about subs and I was looking at the slim versions too as I have a bulkhead installed so space is limited.
