Starter battery issue

Had my T6 for a week, setup as a camper with leisure battery and Orion dc dc 12/12 18 unit. I’m having a problem with the starter battery discharging and not having enough voltage to start the van. Had AA out tonight to get it going. Been doing a bit of reading and I’m not sure the Orion is setup correctly, see photo. The input voltage lockout was set at 10.5v and by coincidence that’s what the AA found to be the voltage in the battery, but that’s not enough to start the van, I’ve changed it to 11.5v, but should it even be set up as a power supply? Any help appreciated

first off you have the unit set as a "power supply" and not a "charger" - thats the main problem.

secondly you have the voltage settings wrong . . . .

see here for these settings . .

Thanks for the help, i’ll change settings tomorrow. Must have been missed by the conversion company when it was installed.

What leisure battery donyou have?

Post a few pic of your install and setup with the unit and battery connections.

Thanks for the help, pics below. I can’t get a pic of the front of the battery because it’s in that box. If you need that I’ll need to try and get it out somehow.

looks like you have a Sargent for EHU,

this is a very basic power supply ( on EHU ) and not a proper battery charger , , , so be mindful of that.

have a look at getting a battery monitor so what everything is doing --

.

Thanks, picture attached.

Had a read of the monitoring thread you posted, is it best to have 2 BM2, one for each battery?

Also can you give me recommended settings for the Orion charger, the battery presets are a bit confusing non of them seem to be straightforward, so I’m thinking it will have to be user defined? It’s set to lithium by default but I don’t think it’s a lithium battery.

Also if Sargent unit isn’t good, what would you recommend?

Thanks again, really appreciate the help.
