Yes that's how I've fitted mine.
I didn't want the battery sitting at 100% on charge and in a hot location all the time.
Battery removed, powered via USB from the LB.
And tucked above the headlining.

It work really well.... This is on the Scancom SIM. (Vodafone/Three)

How much of a faff was it to get it in there?
No
Easy peasy and nice bit of space up there.
No Faff, the light unit just pops out with a trim tool..... Or will have two screws holding it up here, that you can see when the bulbs changed.

Very pleased on our recent 12 day Euro tour to not need to break out the Starlink. Saved me a few quid by not having to pay for Roam for part of the month and leave it in standby mode. My Smarty contracts 12Gb fair usage lasted me with 3Gb to spare. My daughter ran out of data on her Smarty sim, but she is an Instagram queen! My Starlink will be rolled out at the big festivals this summer but only in Standby mode which works well for me, until Elon shifts that goalpost too.

I have also cancelled mine and renew as and when we travel in camper van. Their loss as was happy to pay £5 a month, but no way ever pay £9. I read on the forums that loads of RV´ers State side are also binning it until needed.
If it is easy enough to restart as and when required I will also cancel at £9 a month. Rob dogs...
