Just seen this on the Volkswagen commercial vehicles uk, page on Facebook

It’s here. The new and highly anticipated Volkswagen Transporter Sportline.

Based on the already generous specification of the kombi Highline model, the new Sportline T32 rides on 18-inch bi-colour alloy wheels, comes with lowered suspension and deeper front and rear spoilers, leather seats, Discover Media navigation and lots more.

Interested? It's ready to order now with first deliveries expected in September. Speak with your local Van Centre for more: Van centres for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Vans | VWCV (UK)

Managed to see a few pics over the last 24 hrs. Still can't decide on that front step ......

I don't like the seats at all. The look like cheap covers.

Nice to see the black alloys though.

About 18 months ago, a dealer told me that the Sportlines are shipped to the UK as Startlines and built up to Sportline spec by VW in Milton Keynes. That was in responce to me asking why does such an expensive van only have vinyl cab flooring? They didn't bother to lower the last few Sportline 5.1's - from the VW Press pics, it doesn't look like the 6 is lowered either as standard. Rear stance looks too high .....

I think i read on another thread somewhere VW have a few euro5 but will ultimately be the 204 euro6 after the initial batch sold

Yeah think it said they had around 170-180 of the euro 5 ones to shift then euro 6 next year

It can't be a start line with the dash as that's a highline dash surely as its same as mine. Do they take out dash too? Seems like a lot of fiddling why wouldn't they use a highline as difference is less?

That's how VW used to commission the 5.1 Sportline. I'll try and find out more about the assembly of the T6 variant.

Overall, disappointing! All seems like an after thought to me. Think the design team have been distracted by other, bigger VW issues! :(.

I understand the retained value thing with a sportline, but I just don't like not being able to factory configure the van to my liking given all the extras that are available normally. Just like the caravelle Gen Six edition in the UK, had to be red/white and other than engine size/ gear box I don't think you have any factory choices. For me, the only pleasure in ordering new is getting exactly what I want.

Spot on yes. 100% why I went for Highline. Much of the fun is adding things to make it your own.

I went to look at a 65 plate 60 edition sportline 16k on the clock £29500 + vat to be honest wasn't impressed with what you got, so whent for a new highline with lots of goodies

Well I'm glad I didn't hang on and wait for the Sportline T6 to be ready! - I think I made the right choice going for a Highline and banging on all the extras!

TBH, I prefer Highlines anyway. The Sportline has the word Sport in it. Which is mutually exclusive to a van.
"High" is good - vans are high up.
Trend is okay too - they are quite trendy.
Start is fine as well - they generally start quite well.

Ours has a positively naff name - zero links to California and the "Ocean" bit makes me cringe.

I'm all for sports vans. I don't see the issue. Any vehicle can be fun to drive with the correct setup. So sports is a good word. Not the t6 sportline though. The transit m sport is nice.

Vans nowadays are not vans. They drive like big cars.
