Running 245*65*17 BFGs on t32 4motion. I don’t have a spare as it wont fit under van. I see a company called road hero’s is advertising space savers for 245*17 would that be ok as a spare to get me out of a problem. Currently I just have one of these repair cans.
I’m just about to fit a set of 17” Rogue Alloy CC3 wheels shod with Falken Wildpeak AT3WA 235/65 R17 tyres to my T6.1 T32 DSG 4Motion campervan and am wondering whether the factory fitted spare 17” steel wheel with a Continental VanContactEco 215/60 R17 will be usable in the event of a puncture. From what I can gather from willtheyfit.com there will be a difference in the rolling circumference of 49mm between the spare and the ATs. Will this difference be a problem with a 4Motion van? If so, if I fit a Wildpeak to the spare wheel, does anyone know if will fit in the spare wheel well...
I adapted my spare wheel carrier by welding a longer lug on the holder at the front and a longer bolt at the back…it’s a fairly common mod and there are companies that offer those parts. It is a tight fit but it does work…have search and read on this here forum. I have posted this previously on a thread but can’t remember where.
