Sound deadening

Was thinking stripping panels out to put some Kingspan in there. But do I sound deaden the panel skins first? Or just kingspan only ?

Depends what effect your after, i would recommend a bit of sound deadening you dont have to cover everything but a piece on all the panels does help and if you got the panels of anyway its not a difficult task

I'm a big fan of SilentCoat. I'd stick some in before you insulate - even if you don't fully cover, it will make a diffarence.

Are people removing the factory sound deadening before silent coating over or just leaving it in place and then working around it?

Removing. And put a little blob of mastic sealer on the silver nuts visible in the pics and all the other ones in the same panels. Door slider rail fixings. Water leaks through them

Why remove to put more soundproofing back on ?

Black fibre pads in the picture are useless. Don’t know what OEM purpose they provide but get rid and do the job properly in my view.

Well I'm not sure if this is the right way and by no means a professional finish...but managed to get the rear section done.

cheers them arches are a nightmare ....

I've now done the rear roof and sliding door....so that means I'm half way there....just need to order more silent coat

I spent most of yesterday doing mine. Not a nice job at all. After about 4 hours the life had drained out of me.

As above looks a tidy job!
