Solar panels for pop up roof

Hi,
Thinking of adding solar panels to this roof. Just getting the roof itself a bit fixed (rusty bolts etc) - any advice on size/fitting for a solar panel? Could it sit flush with the roof?

Take a look here...

Flush, yes with a flexible panel.

Use vinyl wrap on the roof.

Follow the manufacturer guidelines for sticking it down.

Most people fit 100-300w

im going fit a solar panel

I’ve made sure all cables and connections are under the panel. As I hate to see them.

Until it arrives I don’t know how high the connections make the panel sit off the roof !
It’s a HiLow roof. Inside is unfinished.
I’ve got to drill cable holes anyway.
So considering cutting a hole for the whole box to sit in. Silkafex it to death !
Definitely don’t want any leaks !

May fibreglass it inside too. Just to make sure sure.

Anyone done anything similar??

You can them look adding additional mobile solar if needed.

There is loads of background to this . . . . . but for now here is a vid for you all. =]

Just remember W = V*A and as a general rule a good 100W panel will give you up to 6A charge with good sun.

25w = 1.5A
50W = 3A
100w = 6A
200w = 12A
300w = 18A

So if you're looking to trickle charge your starter battery then a smaller panel would be sufficient.
But if you are running kit/load from your battery then its a good idea get a setup that can supply all the load, plus a bit more to keep the battery charged.
