Solar panel removal

Things didn't go to plan removing the defunct solar panel, the paint from the pop top came off with it

Too late for you now but this is why many suggest applying a wrap to the roof first then apply the solar panel to that.
I think you need another solar panel.

Strangely enough I removed and replaced my panel today. I'd added the previous one so I knew I'd only attached with 3m double sided VHB tape and other double sided tape with a small silicone bead. Lucky (maybe) I have 2 small ribs in the pop top so its not 100% flush mount which I think helped the removal.

Wrapping would the the cheapest fix here right?

Ouch! Maybe use some wrap to cover the area and fit the new panel to that (assuming you’re fitting a new one). Or use clear PPF and make sure the replacement panel is bigger than the damaged area.

That's the way I'm going, I've got some wrap on order and the new panel is larger, so hopefully will cover it.

finally got it sorted out.

im going as big as i can go - 530w in one panel.

its arrived (on two pallets lol - truck delivery)

hopefully it fits ok.
